Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative in Indore, the cleanest city and economic capital of Madhya Pradesh, India. After the meet and greet, you have the option to savor a delicious breakfast at the famous Chhappan Dukaan in Indore (at your own expense). Chhappan Dukaan, meaning "fifty-six shops," is a renowned street food hub offering a wide array of specialties, chaat, idli, and dosa, which are relished by visitors with great enthusiasm, especially during the lively evenings. Following this, we will proceed towards Omkareshwar, which is approximately 80 kilometers away and takes around 2.5 hours to reach. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to offer prayers at the sacred Omkareshwar Temple. If desired, a priest can perform a pooja (worship ritual) on your behalf. During your visit to Omkareshwar, you will explore several notable attractions, including the Omkareshwar Jyothirlinga Temple, Kedareshwar Temple, and Siddhanath Temple. The Omkareshwar Jyothirlinga Temple holds immense religious significance as one of the twelve revered jyothirlingas (symbolic representations of Lord Shiva) in India. Situated on Mandhata Island, it occupies a sacred location at the confluence of the Narmada and Kaveri rivers. Dating back to the 11th century, the Kedareshwar Temple is a prominent shrine in Madhya Pradesh. Its spiritual significance draws devotees and tourists from around the world. Adjacent to the Omkar Mandhata temple, the Siddhanath Temple, constructed in the 13th century, is another significant architectural gem that shouldn't be missed. After seeking blessings at these temples, we will proceed to Maheshwar, which is approximately 67 kilometers away and takes about 1.5 hours to reach. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and freshen up. In the evening, you will have the opportunity to attend the Narmada arti (prayer ceremony) at Laxmi Bai ki Chattri, starting at 7:30 PM. Enjoy your overnight stay in Maheshwar.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we will embark on a sightseeing tour of various attractions. Our first stop will be the Holkar Fort, also known as the Queen's Fort, which served as the magnificent palace of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar. During her reign, this fort also functioned as her administrative headquarters. Today, it has been converted into a guesthouse managed by Prince Shivaji Rao Holkar, the son of the last Maharaja of Indore. Next, we will visit Mandleshwar, a town situated on the banks of the Narmada River, just 5 kilometers away from Maheshwar. It was founded by a woman named Mandana Mishra. We will then proceed to Narmada Ghat, a tranquil spot surrounded by lush green surroundings. It offers a perfect setting for picnics and relaxation, providing a respite from the worries and stresses of daily life. Jaleshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, will be our next destination. Like other temples in Maheshwar, it showcases the various benevolent and fearsome forms of Lord Shiva. Lastly, we will visit the Pandrinath Temple, which differs from the others as it is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the protector of the universe. According to legend, Lord Krishna is believed to have incarnated on the eighth day of the dark fortnight in the holy month of Shravana. Don't forget to take the opportunity to acquire a Maheshwari saree directly from the weavers as a valuable keepsake. After lunch, we will proceed to Ujjain, which is approximately 140 kilometers away and takes around 3.5 hours to reach. Upon arrival, check into the hotel, freshen up, and visit the Mahakal Corridor. This project aims to enhance tourism, preserve ancient heritage, and provide modern facilities to pilgrims. The corridor spans over 900 meters and is surrounded by the ancient Rudrasagar Lake. As you walk through the corridor, you will come across 108 pillars, around 200 statues, and murals depicting stories of Lord Shiva. Enjoy an overnight stay in Ujjain.

Early in the morning at 3:30 AM, we will proceed for the Bhasm Aarti at the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple. The Mahakaleshwar Temple, located in the historic city of Ujjain, is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the Mahakal lingam inside is believed to be self-manifested (Swayambhu), emanating power (Shakti) from within. The Mahakaleshwar Temple is also one of the 18 Maha Shakti Peethas in India. The Bhasm Aarti, a sacred ritual, is highly revered and attracts numerous devotees. After the Aarti, we will have breakfast and proceed for darshan (worship) at the Kal Bhairava Temple and the Harsiddhi Temple. The Kal Bhairava Temple is dedicated to the fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva, known as Bhairav. Among the eight Bhairavas, Kal Bhairava holds significant importance. According to ancient scriptures, the temple is associated with the Tantra cult, a secret religious sect that thrived on practices related to black magic. The Harsiddhi Temple houses an idol of Annapurna, painted in a dark red color, placed between the idols of Mahasaraswati and Mahalaxmi. The temple was once in a dilapidated condition, but the Marathas undertook its restoration, giving it a distinctive Maratha touch. After the temple visits, we will return to the hotel for lunch before departing for Indore Airport, marking the end of our memorable journey.
